Member of the National Assembly for D’Arcy McGee. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sir George Williams University in 1961. In 1964, I obtained a Law Degree from the University of Montreal and was admitted to the Board of Notaries in the year 1965. Until 1966, I practised as a Notary in a Notarial firm and then exercised my profession as a partner in the firm of Berger & Bergman until the year 1994. For a term of three years I served on the disciplinary committee of the Board of Notaries.
Elected as the Member of the National Assembly for D’Arcy McGee on September 12, 1994. I was appointed to the critic for the Official Opposition in the matter of the application of the Professional Code and Consumer Protection.
Reelected as the Member of the National Assembly for D’Arcy McGee in the provincial election of November 30, 1998. Since April 1, 1999, I was vice-president of the delegation of the National Assembly concerning relations with the Parliament of Central America (PARLACEN). Relected as the Member of the National Assembly for D’Arcy McGee in the provincial election of April 14, 2003, I was nominated Minister of Revenue of the Province of Quebec on April 29, 2003
