Personal: Married for 43 years to Irene who taught Mathematics at Dawson and McGill and retired in 2000. Two sons: Lenny, 42, senior  vice-president, Merrill Lynch; Danny, 39, retina surgeon, Associate Professor of Medicine, Rutgers.  Five grandchilren.


Education: High School: placed in the top 25 in the province, gold medal in mathematics. 


University: B.Sc. 1961 (McGill), first class honours in Mathematics and Physics, Anne Molson Medal.  M.Sc. 1962 (McGill).  Ph.D. 1965, Hebrew University.


Professional Experience: Full Professor, Department of Mathematics, McGill University, 1984 to present.


Awards: Leo Yaffe Teaching Award, Faculty of Science, 1986 (once a lifetime).

Award for outstanding Teaching of Engineering, 1983, 1993, 2001. 

Distinguished Teaching Award, Continuing Education, 1993, 2002
