Studies at McGill University (BA and Master of Social Work) were followed by practice and as Director of a Family Service Association branch until I joined the staff of McGill University’s school of Social Work.  Concurrently, I completed training as a psychoanalyst and now continue my practice as an analyst and psychotherapist, having retired from McGill in 1997.

I 1967 I married Eva Roskies, a librarian and currently the Executive Director of the Jewish Public Library of Montreal. 

We are the proud parents of two married children: Benjamin, a pulmonologist and genetic researcher, resides in Boston with his wife and two daughters; Joanna, a lawyer, and her husband live in New York City and are happily awaiting their first child in April
