After graduating from Outremont High I went to McGill University whre I obtained a diploma in Physiotherapy.  I returned to McGill in 1975 to complete my Bachelor of Science and in 1994, a Master’s in Rehabilitation Science.

After graduating from McGill in 1960 I started my professional career at the Montreal Children’s Hospital; then moved to Mackay Center for Deaf and Disabled Children where I stayed 25 years.  During this time I had the privilege of being on the McGill Baffin Medical team.  I had the opportunity to work Baffin Island 3-4 weeks per year for a period of almost 10 years.  My interest in the North led me to pursuing a research study to determining the prevalence of pediatric disabilities in the eastern Arctic.  I completed a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation a McGill University in 1994.

I retired in 2003 and since then I have pursued an interest in clay sculpturing.  In particular I make original Inuit sculptures of dancing bears, Innuit Drummers etc.

In 1963 I married Gerry Destounis.  We have two daughters, Anne Marie and Adrienne and five granddaughters ranging in ages from 3-12 years.  As any grandparent knows, they bring much joy and happiness to our lives.  We have a vacation home in Ste Agathe North where we spend much time with our granddaughters.

Bonnie, I would recognize you anywhere.  You look the same as when we were kids.
