Lionel Chetwynd has over 40 feature and long-form television credits and has written, produced and directed over 21 documentaries.  He has received both Oscar and Emmy nominations, six Writers Guild of America nominations, including an award, the New York Film Festival Gold Medal, two Christophers, two George Washington Freedom Medals, and six Telly Awards. 

He has received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Columbia College ( Hollywood) and is a recipient of the Caucus of Writers, Directors and Producers Lifetime Achievement Award.  In 2001, President George W. Bush appointed him to the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. 

Lionel is married to actress Gloria Carlin and has two sons.
